In May 2010, Iris and I joined a Captain's Choice tour to Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique and South Africa. There is a fine blog by Bruce Hodge, the tour doctor and escort, with his photographs, at http://namibia.timbo-inc.com/. The highlights were the Namib desert and the game drives. With the principal exception of short tours of Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, and Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, we avoided cities or large towns. While there were some "hiccups" in the timetable and general organisation we saw everything we came to see, which was quite impressive. We travelled by 'plane, train in Namibia, and bus. We visited a small game reserve near Windhoek and spent two nights each in three major game viewing areas, Etosha National Park in Namibia, the Okavango Delta in Botswana and Sabi Sands in South Africa. We saw the "Big 5" and many other animals and birds in their natural habitats and most of our photographs (not all) are from the game drives.
