In Winter 2006 we took two trips sunward. The first one, in April, was a short cruise from Sydney northwards up rhe Queensland Coast, somewhat curtailed by tropical cyclone Monica. The second was much more extensive, and featured about 2 weeks in the Kimberley region, north-west Australia. Before starting the Kmiberley tour we spent a week in Brisbane and after the tour we spent 10 days on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, near Brisbane. The highlight of the whole trip was the wild birds which are colourful and often not too shy for the travel photographer. The natural scenery in the Kimberley region was also very photogenic with crocodiles and fantastic gorges.
